David Watkins, FGSM HonARAM :: Harps
After studying at the Royal Academy of Music, a French Government Scholarship enabled David Watkins to study in Paris. He was Principal Harp with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden for many years, a founder member of the Welsh National Opera Orchestra and then joined the Royal Philharmonic and London Philharmonic Orchestras, where he played under the baton of Boult, Solti, Haitink and Tennstadt.His solo concerts have taken him all over the world. For many years he was professor of harp at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and he has written many works for the harp.
